Whew! Wow, it's been like, 3 months and 20 days since I last blogged, and I've almost forgotten about the existence of this blog already. I was prepared to abandon this blog already but somehow, I feel that I just have to say something today to vent it all out.
So our SYF finally ended yesterday! The one whole year of hardwork, but wait, it's more than one year actually - we got our Barber scores on 21 March last year. Yea, the past one year of hardwork which we have put in, was all just for the greatest moment yesterday, where we would all be winners on stage. We practised our best, we played our best, and we never gave up. But when the results were announced, I don't even know whether I should just laugh it off as a joke or just cry out loud.
The presenter goes: "HM01 - Yuhua Secondary School, Silver..." and this continues till HM05 - National Junior College, when I was already feeling quite confident.
And we got a Silver.
As if that's not depressing and surprising enough. It's like getting stabbed in the heart twice. Guess what? Let me tell you something funny. All 8 schools bloody hell got a Silver. Yea, you got that right. No bronze, no gold, no gold with honours. All silver. Seriously, you call that 'judging'?
As quoted from SYF web: "The SYF has always been a platform that has enabled and celebrated the talents and vibrancy of our youths." Huh? Celebrated? Just clean my ass.
How could all of us possibly be of the same standard, when the amount of our practices and our choice pieces are all different? And if you judges could give us all Silver, why not just give out 8 Gold with Honours? It's just pieces of paper with gold letterings, that's all. Can't they even afford that?
But erm ok, the previous sentence was a bit crap. After that, their comments were that 'the results aren't important at all, and what's most valuable is the friendships you have forged and the fun you have enjoyed throughout the process.' Yea true enough, I agree with that, but not when the results stink so much. And they continued with 'there are different kinds of Silver.' Yea, please explain CLEARLY to me what kind of Silvers are there. Pure? Impure? We don't just want to know they exist, we want to know who they are.
Feeling very depressed yet angry after the results were announced. Nonetheless, life still has to go on. One thing is for sure though - I've seriously lost hopes in the rationale of SYF and how they find their judges.
Haix, enough about ranting. So yea, let's talk about the beautiful memories in this past one year :D I'm really glad I got kicked out of Western Dance auditions last year (That's shameful, but I'm proud of it!) and because of that, I decided to join Harmonica Band :D Right now, I feel that my life is complete only with the friends I've made in harmoc and without them, my NJC life would be utterly sad and torturous. Well, it's easy to see why. I really appreciate every single one of you!
And our teachers were great too! Thank you Mr Song for pushing us always, Mrs Teai for showing us your motherly love, Mr Low for always messing up my hair, and Mr Lim for your vitamin C! Oops, and I think I ate quite a lot of vitamin C :D
And most importantly, Mr Tang!!! Go go go MRT! Chiong all the way! Don't let your engine run out of oil just because of this stupid result! We know you are the best conductor ever, with your humour and 'cool' golden shoes :D But hey, please don't use me for humour which is not even humourous. I dislike that :D
Well, after the whole thing, our teachers-in-charge treated the whole band to MacDonalds @ KAP!!! A big thank you to all of you! Free treats always excite me :D After that, we went to Beauty World for 3 hours of pool, where I had my fill winning and losing. Seriously, Juinwen is damn zai luh! Jeaness too. Great to team up with either of them.
Let X be a random variable for the number of wins one will have in 3 hours when teaming up with either of them. Probabilty follows a Poisson Distribution: X~Po(30). Calculate the probability of winning 100 times in 10 hours :D [3]
Haha I'm soooo addicted to statistics! Seriously, these 2 chapters are more relavant to our daily lives then all the previous math chapters combined! But jialat, I haven't started on Normal!
What's more pro is when I teamed up with Zpin. I shot in 3 balls consecutively, and next turn, she shot in 3 balls consecutively too! Which meant that we were left with only 1 ball! But still, I seriously dun get it, cuz we lost to Kimyong and Jeaness in the end :( Well, life is weird. After Juinwen left, I had 4 one-on-one matches with Kimyong. Thrashed him hard lol 3-1 haha! Better luck next time :D
Well, after pool session, we saw 1st Chro leave for their dinner. I and Kimyong then went to Mac for our 肺腑之言 talk cock session, where I wasted 3 hours of my life. It was fun and relieving though, letting all my feelings out after SYF. The feeling is so enjoyable :D
Well, now that SYF is over, I can stop playing horn le! But not sure if I can go back play chromatic though... Think my Barber running notes have gotten rusty already :(
Anyway, I don't think I'll be posting any of the pictures I've taken during SYF up here or on Facebook, at least not now. Too busy and a bit emo luh. If anyone of you wants them just ask me to send them to you luh. It will take time though, probably :D
So yea! Everything's over! So let's not think about it anymore! NJHB all the way!
On a side note, I really want to go to K-Box one of these days luh! Wanna spam My Chemical Romance songs so hard :D Welcome to the Black Parade, Helena, Famous Last Words, and Teenagers!
Do or die You’ll never make me Because the world will never take my heart Go and try, you’ll never break me We want it all, we want to play this partOk, time to sign off! Physics SPA tmr and I'm only like half-prepared. Jialat sia! And to the Jonathan who is the first to read this post, I just want to tell you that you are super charismatic :D Thanks for the encouragement though!
